OLIVES

When we bought our ranch in 2000, we included in our plans the planting of 48 olive trees. We were lucky enough to know Dr. James & Kay Doyle of Whitehall Farms, Napa, who had extensively researched which Italian olives produced the finest olive oil. He brought over hundreds of young seedlings in 1988 from Italy. His plantings were so successful at his napa farm he had additional young trees available.

 
     
The varieties are -

Pendolino
Leccino
Frantoio
Coratina

- all varieties from Umbria and Tuscany.
 
     
  The first small production from our trees were harvested for eating and brined in salt water. As production has gone up, we now produce our private label olive oil. It is pressed at a state of the art facility, the Kelseyville Olive Mill.






     
The 4 varieties of olives are at the press and ready to be processed at the Kelseyville Olive Mill high tech processing facility.
